Great taverna in village location
Visited in the daytime to see how far from Elounda this little taverna is, it's around a 10min drive up the hill out of Elounda in Kato Pines); booked a table for 8pm the same eve. It reminds me of the taverna in the film Mamma Mia! Run by the loveliest of welcome men, George, who opened the taverna up at the beginning of 2023. Was quite a quiet eve when we visited but we were made to feel like old friends. Food was fabulous and very generously portioned - rooster with homemade chips and pork belly as our mains, meatballs, tzatziki and a spicy cheese dip with breads for starters All in all, a lovely eve, will def visit again when there's more people as understand it gets quite lively with a fun atmosphere

Zalig

Unbeatable.

Pretty restaurant with delicious food
You will get to the restaurant within a 10min drive from Elounda. The restaurant is decorated absolutely amazing, we fell in love the moment we saw it. The owner is very very nice and takes good care of his guests. We also met his mother (mamma mio ☺️). The food was also perfect! All in one a perfect greek evening. Loved this place. Best Traditional Cretan food.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, delicious food - amazing evening!
We were recommended this beautiful homely restaurant in the hills by a couple we met in Elounda and we had the most amazing evening of fun here. George and his team were so friendly and welcoming, the location and views just stunning. We enjoyed a delicious meze, house wine and cocktails, followed by an evening of singing and dancing thanks to George's fab playlist. Something very different…
We had been waiting to eat here since we saw that the taverna had opened in December….we went mid April, when there was a nice mix of locals and tourists. The location is very special with stunning views across the valley ….I would say the food is average-good, but what makes this place so very special is the owner Giorgos who is so friendly, welcoming and such fun he really does make the whole experience so special.

Best night of holiday
We visit Elounda every year and there are plenty of good restaurants in the village that we frequent each year. On our visit this year some friends mentioned that they had visited this restaurant and had a really good night. It requires a taxi journey of about 15 minutes from Elounda as it is situated up in the hills but it is well worth the effort. Staff were so welcoming especially George the owner who goes out of his way to ensure that everyone has a great time. Menu is not extensive but food is freshly cooked and very tasty. Background music was fantastic and George was happy to turn it up if people wanted to sing along to their favourites - he also takes suggestions. Best to arrive in daylight to take in the views across the valley. We had a great night and will definitely make the effort to visit again next year.
